Week # 3

Week 3 This week felt like a big week for me in many aspects. There are three points I want to highlight from this week that were successes in my physical education classes and as well as my sports medicine and medical terminology classes. The first success is the encouraging feedback, I received from my students during the lessons I taught during the week. They all were engaged and answered all the questions I asked them about each lesson. The next feedback, I received was from my cooperating teachers throughout the week. The last was taking over all but one of my classes during the day. On Wednesday I had to think on the fly and change my lesson plan as the gym we normally in for class was going to be used for another class during a class period. Luckily, the class period before my 4 th  hour is my planning period. I had the o...

Week 2 Blog Post  I cannot believe the second week of my first placement at Carl Sandburg High School is completed. I have been more confident in my abilities this week as I have gotten to know my students a bit more with a full week of school. This past week was the first time my students dressed out for their physical education class. I was excited to start to get into the flow of things as the previous week was all administration things such as syllabus, locker assignments, and curriculum fair. This was my and some of my students' first experience with  Tchoukball; it was a great learning experience for all of us. To determine  the abilities levels of each individual, the cooperating teach...

Week 1 Blog Post  Wow! What an exciting week. This past week was my first week of student teaching at Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, IL.  I   wanted  to make certain my  nerves  didn't get the best of  me  and that  I  could  demonstrate   I   deserve  to  be  the  students '  student teacher. I had hopes that they will   respect   me  just as they  do  their other teachers. This week has been a week of  acclimation, and not just for  me  but for my  students  as well.    As it  is  the  start  of the new semester, my cooperating teacher and I handed out  syllabuses to all of our classes (Sophmore P.E., Junior/Senior boys p.e., sports medicine II, and medical terminology). We i nformed our students over the course of the week about the expectations for the semester such as grading, attendance, uniform...
